As far as kiting goes; get a minimum t2 speed scroll and do not run past town chief rumens you will only get mobbed by more zombies, you can run back towards Ancient Templar Maria.
You will notice messages coming up saying there are more than 10 zombies left just keep walking around rodmen and kill the zombies; these messages will let you know how many zombies are left.
Once you have killed all the zombies you will receive the time piece 1, collect all three pieces to complete the job change.
